Child Custody Evaluations

A thorough, trauma-informed assessment to assist the court in determining parenting time and decision-making responsibilities. Each evaluation includes:

• Individual interviews with each parent
• Age-appropriate child observation and interview

• Collateral contacts with teachers, therapists, or other providers
• Comprehensive written report with findings and recommendations

Parenting Plan Evaluations

An in-depth, forensic evaluation for complex parenting cases involving mental health, substance abuse, trauma, or high-conflict dynamics. Includes all components of a CFI, plus:

• Psychological testing & screenings
• Expanded collateral contacts (8–15+ sources)
• DHS records review and analysis (CO Department of Human Services)
• Substance abuse history and risk assessment
• Attachment and trauma integration throughout
• Comprehensive 20–40+ page report with clinical formulation and recommendations

Evaluation Components

Psychological Screenings:

  • Administration of objective personality assessments
    • Parenting capacity assessments
    • Substance abuse screening tools
    • Trauma screening instruments
    • Interpretation and integration of results

Interviews:

  • Individual interviews with each parent (2-3 hours total per parent each)

  • Observations of each parent with child(ren)

  • Interview with child(ren) age-appropriate

Environmental Review:

  • Home visits to each parent's residence (Telehealth available)

  • Documentation of living conditions, safety, and appropriateness for children

  • Photo/Video documentation as needed

Collateral Information:

  • Interviews with prior service providers (therapists, doctors, GALs, guardians, teachers)

  • County records review (DHS, Criminal, Substance)
